    Windows 8 dual boot issues

The Story:I am having problems with installing kali alongside windows 8:
I have tried to install this via disc and live usb, I've manually configured partitions and used the "largest free space" option
they mostly end in the same way.

The Problem: Kali won't appear on my OS screen during the boot,
I've completed the install almost every way I've heard about, all to the same end
I've looked up videos, tutorials, and looked on forums for answers, to no avail
I've even tried easybcd and that just complicated things.

My setup: I have an HP 2000 windows 8 native laptop
AMD 1.3 GHz processor and 2G of ram

As one can see by these stats, a VM isn't Remotely possible.

Solution: I was hoping that you guys would fill in this block.
If you guys have any Ideas please just type them in this answer field, located below.

Hello there. Yes I am new to this forum searching for a similar answer my self. I was digging around in other places and a reply came to me with use "EasyBCD". It is a boot loader designed to allocate what ever drive you want to use to duel boot Windows/Linux/Mac/Solaris in one box. It did work for me, Most problems were fixed. Now I just need to find a wireless card driver...
No need to fear, THIS guy was never here...

Line 8: for me "easybcd" only changed the screen that I viewed to not see kali Linux appear on the boot screen

Why don't you replace the boot screen (I assume its the windows boot screen) with grub? an update-grub from within kali should add windows 8 to the grub screen.

Every time I tried to install grub, (and replace the windows boot loader), but for some reason, the live system doesn't register update-grub as a valid command

I was having a hard time too and I managed with this tutorial on an asus laptop.

I have the select screen and I can boot with Kali but not with Windows 8.

When I try to boot Windows 8 I get error: "file /boot/grub/x86_64-efi/normal.mod not found".

Though I checked and normal.mod is there.
