Install fails... Partition too small?

I'm trying to dual boot Windows 7 and Kali, on a Samsung Q1U UMPC, with a 32GB SSD. I successfully installed Kali, but wanted to dual-boot. I installed Win7, leaving a 9GB partition. Then, I tried installing Kali on the 9GB partition. Near the end of the installation (When it's copying the bulk of the data to the HD), a message pops up saying the installation failed. Do I need more than 9GB? Do I need to install Kali first, then Win7?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

"Select your Windows partition. Depending on your system, it will usually be the second, larger partition. In our example, there are two partitions; the first is the System Recovery partition, and Windows is actually installed in /dev/sda2. Resize your Windows partition and leave enough space (8GB minimum) for the Kali installation. "

You need aprox 20Gb and the swap partition (about 1gb) for kali...

Thanks for the response. It took too long for my moderated post to get through, so I experimented. I think around 12GB was enough to install, but had 0GB left. I settled on 15GB, which seems OK. Hope this saves time for someone else.
