    Cool Dictionary mangler tool

    Hey guys,

I downloaded a few dictionaries off the interwebs, but I found them to be a bit lacking. If a user thought themselves even just a bit clever, they could simply append a number or symbol to the end of any common word, and my dictionaries would be useless.

I looked around in Kali for a tool to mangle password dictionaries, but didn't find any. So, to correct this deficiency, I whipped one up over a few glasses of wine, and threw it up on github. Check it out and let me know what you think. I'm pretty happy with it at the moment, but suggestions on ways to improve it are always welcome!

Some wordlist are 'designed' to be basic - to be used as a starting point. Allowing the user to customize it as they see fit.

And for the record, theres lots of tools already in kali that 'mangle' the wordlists.

    One example, john the ripper.
    Tutorial: http://contest-2010.korelogic.com/rules.html
    e.g.
    KoreLogicRulesPrependYears:

This rule prepends any word in the wordlist with a year (from 1949 to 2019). These are common birth years of users, or their family members.

However, well done with the tool - and kudos for publishing the source code afterwards.
