Unhappy GUI and mouse not showing anymore after boot

    Hey guys,

When Kali finishes boot, normally I see the mouse cursor and the login screen, but neither are showing up anymore.
During the boot, no errors are shown.
The last thing I remember is re-installing extlinux. Could this be the issue?
I have already tried to re-install extlinux again via terminal in recovery mode, and also gnome, but it didn't help a thing.
I also have tried Googling, but none of the solutions work for me. I think this can be fixed, because I can still enter terminal in recovery mode with internet access.

How can I repair my Kali without data loss? I hope I explained my problem correctly.

    Thanx in advance.

Make sure you have the xorg metapackage installed.

Yep, xorg is installed. I also tried re-installing it, but it didn't work.
Nothing shows up after the boot finishes. Re-installing gdm3 also didn't help.

Anything else I can try without re-installing Kali? There must be a way...

Could you please post the dmesg and the /var/log/Xorg.0.log output ?

I'm not sure how I would do that, since I can only access terminal via recovery mode. I can't scroll either.
