Unhappy libobasis4.2 error everytime I try to use apt-get

    Hello,

Everytime I try to use apt-get I get the following error :

E: The package libobasis4.2-core06 needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.

I figured it came from an earlier faulty installation of libreoffice so I reinstalled it but that did not solve my problem. I am stuck unable to install or remove anything.

    Thanks for your help !

    Try this:

    apt-get clean
    apt-get remove --purge libreoffice*
    apt-get autoremove

I could get through apt-get clean but I got stuck at apt-get remove --purge libreoffice* and ended up with the same message.

Okei, I checked the status of the Package and noticed it was half-installed so I proceeded to dpkg --force-remove-reinstreq --remove everything related to it and now the world is bright again.

    Thank you guys.
