Kali 1.0.7 not connecting to the outside world

I have recently installed kali 1.0.7 to my HDD however I can not connect to any webpages or ping any webpages that exist off my local area connection. I have turned the false value to true in the /etc/network-manager/network-manager.conf to ensue the device is manage and I have all the official repos off I have tried to update kali however it keeps given me err http:// what ever the site is could not be resolved.

If anyone can help I would truly be thankful.

I would suggest that you check your gateway & DNS.

Thanks for the reply however I have checked my gateway and DNS. Kali can ping my default gateway but have about 13 it stops and says buffer overload. I have tried both DHCP and weird but it still doesn't connect. When I try to ping a website such as it says host not recognized.
