Question ath9k driver question & hardware support(-1 channel)

Hello and nice to meet you.I'm having problems using aircrack.
My laptop's wifi nic uses the mac80211 stack. The driver used is ath9k.
The problem that i face is that mon0 interface's channel is recognised as -1.
I'm using the latest version of kali.
Do i have to patch the drivers?
    Is my hardware not supported?
Can you please point me to some documentation?
    Thank you!

    Service network-manager stop

    And

    Airmon-ng check kill
