Hi i install a live kali persistence usb with persistence on a separate usb partition and proceed to install nmap and the latest version of metasploit framework but on many occasions after i log out of the gui and shutdown kali wont let me login again. The login prompt presents other as the user so i choose root and the password toor to login but it thinks i am still logged on. I have lost my work many times and fedup with reformatting the persistence partition so i am wondering is there a solution to this problem. I have also refrained from doing a sudo poweroff from the terminal prompt which i thought was the root of this problem but kali locks me out even when i did the logout and shutdown from the gui. Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated.
