Hi all, I'm new to the forums.
I tried to boot Kali Linux 1.0.8 on VirtualBox on a friend's laptop. It freezes at a black screen with a blinking cursor after:
Loading /live/vmlinuz
Loading /live/initrd.img
I've tried it in Live (686-pae) and Live (686-pae failsafe) modes.
Once it is stuck, CPU utilization increases a lot and the laptop's fan goes crazy.
My friend's laptop's CPU specs (from lshw) are:
description: CPU

Any help in getting it to work would be appreciated
