Going to buy a 802.11ac wireless adaptor.

    Hi,

I am going out to buy a 802.11ac wireless adaptor soon. I am narrowing down my options to D-Link DWA-182 or Netgear A6200 or Asus USB-AC56 (not sure about hardware revision yet) but google keep telling me Kali Linux does not have driver for any of the three...

I am using 1.0.9 right now. So anyone know if driver is included now? If not, any suggestion on the adaptor, especially works with Aircrack-ng

    Thanks,
    /S

    Hi there!

As far for the driver, there is a Linux driver for D-Link DWA-182 Revision Cx provided by dlink:
    http://www.dlink.com/gr/el/support/p...revc#downloads

but as far as I remember (I've read it somewhere) it doesn't support monitor mode.

If you find a clue about which card you should buy please report back because I'm interesting also.

I probably will go get the net gear one. I think the d-link and net gear use the same chipset. I will reply back if it works (hope so)

Did you find any Linux driver for A6200? It looks like the only way to get it working (partially) is with ndiswrapper.

Honestly, no. The only one from my list above has Linux driver is the asus but they say no monitor mode either... I have another application I need to use on windows and it does to supports asus for monitor but the netgear. So my logic is getting the working with windows and try it with kali. If not working in kali, then I would have to wait...

Thanks, I might try both and report back

Actually, I was able to use the monitor mode on this key (AC56R) on a kali vm and it worked. I can say it was hard to setup and it's really not reliable (sometimes it disconnects by itself, sometimes it doesn't connect) but there is definitely something to do with this key, as I was able.

EDIT : I was also able to run a full aircrack-ng command with a password list and it worked fine after tweaking a bit with the interface commands.
