    Repository Question

Hi, I was wondering about some of the repositories I have seen. I installed Kali and only updated the ones from kali.org. The two that were with it, the two source and the bleeding...

I have a few others that I have seen on other sites and whatnot looking around and was wondering if there was a way to check if they were good to go or if I should nix them. This is what I have come across online. Like I said, so far I have only done the ones from kali.org (http://docs.kali.org/general-use/kal...t-repositories), but these are the others that I have come across and was wondering if they would be good and safe to do or if they would be a no go. Is there a way to check them too?

    [deb http://http.kali.org/ /kali main contrib non-free
    deb http://http.kali.org/ /wheezy main contrib non-free
    deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-dev main contrib non-free
    deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-dev main/debian-installer
    deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali main/debian-installer
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali main contrib non-free
    deb http://http.packages.debian.org import deb packages
    deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali-dev main contrib non-free
    deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali main contrib non-free]

  2. I would recommend to sticking with the default two for now, until you come across a reason to enable additional repos. I had recently did a fresh install of Kali, (been a while) added the additional Kali Repos, went through the entire procedure up updating and upgrading everything.

Found out on reboot, GDM Broke. Once I figured out why, started it back up, logged into a nice Debian interface o.0

Re-did the install and kept the original repos for now, while installing anything not there that I need as they pop up.

Using those repositories will break your Kali. Any website advising otherwise is misinformed. You should really stick to the official documentation.
