Roll back the installation to KitKat

Before I begin the install process, is there a way to roll back the system to Android KitKat on my 2012 Nexus 7 ?

After installing NH you're still on KitKat.
To revert the installation and get your system to previous status, make a backup before installing NH. You can restore it later.
To put your device in a "factory new" status, download the proper system image from: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images and flash it.
