I haven't seen any mention of NetHunter for the Nexus 6 but I'm assuming there are plans for it? By next year I'm hoping NetHunter will be continuously refined and the large screen + Snapdragon 805 will increase its usability. Something else I'm wondering is what kind of battery effect will connecting a 1W WiFi adapter to the phone have?

You can not connect a 1W WiFi (e.g. Alfa) without a Y-Cable and external battery pack.

The Smartphone isn´t released! So how could there be an image for it ?
Next is that the Nexus 6 comes (maybe) with Android 5.0 L. NetHunter based on the stock factory images of Kitkat 4.4.4.

What do you mean with "1W" ? I can connect my TP Link without an Y-Cable and use it.
An Alfa device would be better instead of my TP-Link. Here some facts:

1W adapter is the Alfa AWUS036H 1000mW 1W 802.11b/g. It is too much for a phone to support without external power

An adapter such as the Alfa is capable of a maximum of 1W = Tx-power 30 but defaults to 100mW = Tx-power 20. What is the maximum power that is supported without external power and how will it impact the battery?

I made several tests using the N5, N7-2012, N7-2013 and none was able to power on the Alfa without a power pack.
The best balance between power consumption and range I did found into the TP-Link with AR9271 chipset and the AWUS036NHA.

The RTL8187, RTL2800 and so on from Alfa will need external power pack.

With a 12000mAH external power pack I was able to power a Alfa with RTL8187 chipset (AWUS036H) and a N7-2013 for about 20 hours while a WPS cracking took place.

Of course the Nexus 6 is not released yet so there would not be any image which was not what I was asking. When the Nexus 6 and Android 5 gets released, other Nexus devices will also be updated to Android 5 so presumably NetHunter will update along with it, unless you think otherwise?

So the Alfa AWUS036NHA with AR9271 chipset is able to be powered without external battery but not other Alfa cards with RealTek chipset? What about Alfa cards with Ralink chipset?

Same with the Ralink.

Yes the Alfa with the same chipset like the TP-Link will work properly without any power supply.
I recommend the TP-Link due the size.
The difference between the Alfa and TP-Link according to the signal strength is minor.

Using the TP-Link TL-WN722N without external battery, can the Tx-power be changed to 27 for 500mW and how much battery will it use?

I didn't had success in changing the TX-Power under ARM Kali of any wifi card.
