    Could not login after upgrade

    Hello

I did ant update on my dual installed kali linux, I did an
    Code:
    apt-get update
    and
    Code:
    apt-get upgrade
    command
and also installed the gnome-tweek tool during the upgrade.

after it rebooted.. the login screen (gnome) changed to a debian like screen with a debian logon below and the kali logo was removed.

I tried logging on with my root credentials. it told me that
    Code:
sorry seems this didnt work, try it again
    error

I tried shutting down with the shutdown button it was not working, I tried the restart button it was not working.

So i decided to take my problems online

    Any help will be grateful.

Did you attempt root login with the default password (toor). Just a jab in the dark, not being there. If it works, change your root password to something you will remember.

    Code:
    Ctr + Alt + F1 to
boot to Command shell and try to login with my root user name and password it will successfully login without any problem.
