System is Macbook Pro dual booted with Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit as primary OS. VMware Player 64-bit is installed. A 32-bit Ubuntu 14.04 .iso installed fine on Player. I downloaded kali-linux-1.0.9a-amd64.iso to create a kali VM, but when I try to install it it hangs on the initial spash screen of the Kali installation, (where it says Live (amd64) .. LIve.. Live... Install). "Press Enter to boot or TAB to edit" but the window iis frozen. Just before the splash screen, there is a quick flash of a screen that says the VM is installed or running and then Kali tried to install, without success.
I set 1024 MB of RAM, and 20GB drive space. My hardware have over 250GBHDD available and 8GB RAM
Any suggestions?
