Thread: Deleting bluetooth packages?

  1. #1

    Question Deleting bluetooth packages?

Just curious if it was ok to delete the bluetooth packages?I have an older netbook that doesn't have bluetooth capabilities. I checked the processes running and there seems to be one called "bluetooth-applet" taking up some memory so was wondering if by deleting it would it harm my system. If it's ok to delete it what's the command to delete that and all the other bluetooth stuff I can't use?

    Hi Digitalbulletz,

I would suggest just to disable the Bluetooth Manager (Applications -> System Tools -> Preferences -> Startup Applications) since gnome-bluetooth (the package which is probably the one you are looking for) depends on various other packets. Removing gnome-bluetooth could result in removing other packages which are still needed.
