service: command not found

Im new to kali and im having a few issues with getting my SSH setup:

Hck@kaliHack:~$ service ssh start
bash: service: command not found

Any idea why the service command wouldnt work?

Looks like you're not running as root.

Yeah that was the issue, is there no way to enable the use of service with a non root user?

Modify your /etc/profile to have the "PATH" directive to be the same. When you look, you will see the "else", slightly different.
