    Installed Kali - Graphics Error?

I just installed Kali onto a new PC that is now dual booting with Windows 8.1. It appeared that everything went well, with the GRUB menu showing, ability to boot to both systems, but when loading into Kali, I am getting a fuzzy/blank screen. I am not sure if it is a graphics card issue or not. I have a GeForce GT 720 video card. I am new to linux builds, and wanted to experiment outside of a virtual box. Below is a picture (from my phone) of what the screen looks like. It is the full monitor, so that white box is covering about 2/3 of the screen with some black space around and the lines above. Any help would be appreciated.

I should also note that the same thing happens if I try to run Kali through a live boot (USB), but it will work fine through a Orable VirtualBox, in the windows environment
