I recently installed an SSD in my laptop and reinstalled Kali. I'm having some difficulty enabling my microphone. I know there are some alsa packages but I'm not sure which ones. When I search this on Google I find suggestions about alsamixer. I've tried alsamixer and I've tried pretty much everything else suggested on those web pages. Are there some configuration files I should be editing to get the microphone to work? Also if anyone wants to suggest any reading specifically geared toward Linux configurations that would be great.
