    Cant boot into Kali live via DVD

    I downloaded and burned the iso to a dvd r, everything showed successfull.

    After booting up the disc, I see the KALI LINUX menu, I select > Live (amd64)
    I see alot of scrolling text, however this then gets stuck at

    [31.955118] ata2: SError: { RecovData RecovComm UnrecovData Persist Proto HostInt PHYRdyChg PHYInt CommWake 10B8B Dispar BadCRC Handshk LinkSeq TrStaTrns UnrecFIS DevExch }

    [31.955493] ata2.00: status: { DRDY }
    [31.955574] ata2: hard resetting link

    I have tried to

    • Remove the mouse from USB
    • Unplug internal spinning platter harddisks
    • remove all other unnecessary devices from machine
    • booted to > Live (amd64 failsafe)

    Would appreciate any help here offered.

    Thanks

    Are you sure you have a amd64 system?

    It looks like a bad copy to me, try re-installing it on the USB?

    What software did you use? Unetbooting is a good one.

    That error is normally caused by your cdrom drive.

    Make a live usb and disconnect the cdrom drive.
    chown -R us ./base
