Hi there,

got a strange thing ...

I use a Kali live USB Stick on a Dell-i7 to read a HDD (WD5000) that did not boot Windows7 anymore.
HDD was connected via SATA/USB-adaptor. I was able to 'see' the files, that I wanted to rescue with the file browser.
Because the read-speed for this defective HDD was ~100kB/sec it took ~48h to copy all files to the Dells local NTFS drive.
folder name was '#rescued_files'.
After these ~48h copying it was possible to open my files.

shutted down Kali.....rebooted the Dell with Win7.....

Expected my files in D:\#rescued_files folder - but there was no #rescued_files folder, no file that I copied, nothing what ever appears to be on of the recued things !

What the f*ck did I do wrong???? Any Idea? (well, I'm a complete Linux newbee)

(meanwhile the HDD is that defect, it reads with ~4kB/sec - and lots of 'bad sectors'......)

Best regards - happy new year
Oli
