assistance needed with settign up kali with vmware fusion + awus036nh

Dear all,

I'm trying to get kali to work for like 3 days now. I'm using a macbook pro late 2010.
I'm using vmware fusion and kali boots up just fine. The problems start when I try to use my awus036nh.
As far as my research has revealed I should do the following:

-Turn off macbooks inbuild airport: check
-Connect awus036nh, put vmware in bridged mode: check

I also downloaded wicd network manager for kali but it doesnt find any networks or even my awus card.

Can you guys please direct me in the right way?

Hi kalirookie1,

You should not connect your awus036nh to OSX and put the in bridged mode. You can even leave the onboard airport active.

Follow these steps.
- Connect your awus adapter.
- In Fusion select Virtual Machine -> USB & Bluetooth -> Connect <awus036nh or something pointing to your adapter>

Now the awus adapter is logically connected to your Kali VM, and should you be able to use all the supported toold.
