Attempting to Dual Boot Linux Mint with Kali

    Ladies/Gentlemen,

First off, I've been using Ubuntu/Mint for about a year and would like to start using Kali as well. I have managed to configure Mint to pretty much exactly how I want it, so I can't bring myself to just give it up and do a clean install. I set aside 100GB in a partition which I intend to allocate to Kali... if I can ever get it working.

My Kali LiveUSB works great. I can get through the entire graphical install process, but when I reboot the system and select Kali in grub, the computer returns:

error: failure reading sector 0x0 from 'cd0'
error: failure reading sector 0x0 from 'cd0'
    error: no such device: d082a504-2b00-4dfd-8f95-3e431a5c459c.
    error: disk `hd0,gpt5' not found.
    unaligned pointer 0xb384ac68
Aborted. Press any key to exit.

Then it takes me to the boot manager...

When I boot into Mint, I can see that all the Kali files made it into the partition they were supposed to make it to... what am I doing wrong and/or how can I fix it?

    Thank you in advance
