Hello All,
So recently I did the full upgrade from Kali 3.14 to 3.18 and have the issue where when I try to log into 3.18, all it does is hang and give me the blinking cursor. I can still access 3.14 and Win 7 as normal. Once I hit Ctrl + Alt + F1 and log into root I first tried startx with no success. It just gave me the file not found error. When I typed gdm3 I got a new error, and thought maybe someone would know what this is. If this has already been corrected, please do not criticize, just please lead me to the fix. In any case, the error I see is:
** (gdm3:3177); WARNING **: Failed to acquire org.gnome.DisplayManager
** (gdm3:3177); WARNING ** Could not acquire name; bailing out
Does this look like someone has seen? I've been just leaving the 3.18 alone thinking that since I have 3.14 and Windows working, not to unsettle the apple cart. But any help is appreciated!
