Authenication error in openvas

Configuration > credentials > new credentials
Enter login and password for target
Click create credentials
Message below comes up

Error message

The credential has been created or not. Diagnostics: Failure to receive response
From Manager daemon.

I am having the same issue... Anyone know a work around?

Tried re-installing kali, reverting to v5 openvas, completely removing openvas and reinstalling. Same error.
