    Install on NEW Hisense Chromebook

Is there any reason the either Chromebook version will not work on the new Hisense or the other new Chromebook coming out this week? Yes, I know they have obviously not been tested but just curious.

    Hisense from Walmart:

    Amazon Chromebook

This is my first experience with Chromebooks and Kali. Hope it will work.

    Thank you,
    LillieJJ

you should use developer mode to list the hardware specifically the Processor,GPU,Wireless
I experienced the same issues with the Samsung ARM Chromebook 2 Model XE503C32 it took me awhile to get Kali running on it
from what I've seen the HiSense is using 1.8GHz Rockchip RK3288 Processor and GPU is supposed to be ARM 760 Mali quad core GPU

    Processor Information - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockchip_RK3288
Kernel source is located here - http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/04/...x-chromium-os/
CrossCompile Toolchain or you can use gcc-linaro-arm-linux-gnueabihf (better in my opinion url - http://releases.linaro.org/14.04/com...hain/binaries/ ) - https://android.googlesource.com/pla...roid-4.4.2_r1/
    Rockchip FlashTool - https://github.com/linux-rockchip/rkflashtool
RockChip U-Boot (you might need it but it's not a must) - https://github.com/linux-rockchip/u-boot-rockchip
    RockChip 3288 website - http://www.rk3288.com/
    ArchLinux ChromeBook Wiki - https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Chrome_OS_devices

if you don't want to compile the RoofFS from scratch you can just use some ArmHF image as a base and add the kernel to the correct place afterwards,
some kernel patches needs to be applied you can look at the build scripts for examples https://github.com/offensive-securit...-build-scripts

    Best of luck to you

    Roadkill,

Just to clarify. When I prepare the USB stick and boot with it. That will allow for installing on the computers hard drive? Correct? Not just run from the stick.

I see the Hisense is finally available at Walmart so I plan on getting one this weekend.

    Thanks again.

well usually for Chromebook I don't install on the internal hard drive just use it from micro-sd card and boot from that
Google updates also contains firmware updates so I might need ChromeOS...
