Upgrading to Android 5.1 ?

My first post here, sorry if I'm doing something wrong.

I have a nexus 7 with android 5.02.

If I upgrade to 5.1, will it break nethunter ?

Wouldn't the OTA update fail to begin with since the ROM isn't virgin lolipop? Doing a new nethunter install should work...
