Can a Nexus 6 be used as a regular phone after Nethunter is installed?

I am about to upgrade my phone and am considering a Nexus 6. I have searched on this forum, and Google, and was unable to find an answer.

Would the device still work as a phone with the Nethunter image installed? Can I continue to use this as my phone, or will I need to have a second phone for regular usage?
Also, will normal apps from google play still function? Would there be any problem using it on Verizon's network?

yes you can get play store apps and it will work on any network
