Fake Wifi AP runs very slowly. Airbase-NG. Can't figure this out...

Hey guys, so I've successfully set up a fake access point using Airbase-ng and I've given it internet access by bridging my laptops built in wireless card with my Alfa awus036h.

My test laptop and phone are both able to connect... But its painfully slow. I run a speed test and it is downloading at about 0.5 mbps.. My normal connection is around 50. This doesn't seem right, I've heard others report that they get almost the same speeds on their fake AP compared to their real one.

Now I've been searching all day and haven't been able to find out why its slow... I even remade another VM and started fresh after updating and installing bridge-utils.

I'm running on Parallels, Kali VM fully updated.
Using Bridge-utils with an ALFA AWUS036H.

Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks for reading.

I would suggest switching to hostapd, rather than airbase (if your card/driver supports it)...

Thank you for your suggestion, I tried Hostapd and it actually is working. Lucky me it also is compatible with the new wireless card I just got in the mail today.

I have yet to make an actual working hotspot, by my "test run" had it displaying under numerous lab devices. I'll try to report back on the speed and stuff once I get it going.
