Nexus 7 2012 + TP-LINK TL-WN821N not recognised

Hi all, i recently purchased a TL-WN821N as this device was know to be compatible. However i cant seem to get the nexus 7 to recognise the device. What steps are required to get the device to work?

Is it listed when you enter lsusb in the terminal?
