Kali Linux Live USB Install Procedure with UNetbootin
1) download kali linux
2 ) use the latest version of UNetbootin ( unetbootin-windows-583 )
3 ) plug in you're USB stick ( it should be FAT32 formatted )
launch UNetbootin and "burn" the image to you're USB stick
remove you're USB stick correctly.
if you use earlier versions of UNetbootin the startup menu is not correct.

It is stated clearly to use dd command in the wiki...It is the easiest way...

I tried unetbootin and it doesn't work for me. Not sure if its unetbootin or something else.
I will try with Win32 Disk imager and report the results.

Ok, please, forget Unebootin, forget ppa (personal package archives) which by the way I do not think will ever be used by debian versions due to high security issues, forget UBUNTU..This is Debian..Any doubt on Ubuntu distros, refer to ubuntu forums.

Use dd command if you can, is the easiest way and it is the Debian way...
Do not get me wrong but before using a distro, you need to know the basics things about it. It's all in the Kali wiki.

I try for many time to create one USB bootable and every time unebootin what i have nstaled don't see my Kali OS .... .

Ran this for 4 hours...only transferred 1.2 gigs....

My install took around 10 minutes. But i used dd on OSX. Not that i think it should take longer on Linux systems.

well, i did everything by the book. used dd. used it 3 times. easy enough
However, after i select live[pae] on booting from a usb stick, i get a SQUASHFS error
and then it say kernel panic - not syncing: attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00007f00 CPU: Z PID:1 Comm: init Tainted: G C 3.12-kali1-686-pae #1 Debian 3.12.6-2kali1Code:SQUASHFS error: Unable to read page, block 30aa430, size c590 /sbin/init: error while loading shared libraries: /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libsepol.so1:cannot read file data: Input/output error
lists my hardware name, bios
a bunch of address blocks...
and then call trace.
Whats the problem here?
also, i posted a thread on the forums about this yesterday.. it said that it would be posted pending moderation by a moderator.

quick update... i used the same pendrive with the same install to boot up another machine... so it looks to be a hardware error... anyone??

You might want to check usb stick, have you tried with another one?...Have you checked sha1 integrity of the download?...
It is clearly saying: "Unable to read page, block 30aa430, size c590" and "a bunch of address blocks...". It is pointing to issues with blocks (maybe a bad usb stick or a corrupted squashfs when downloaded the .iso)
