Problem with Kali Linux Live usb boot

I am having problem in making a Kali Linux Live usb bootable. I downloaded the Kali Linux ISO FILE from (https://www.kali.org/downloads/). I got a Win32 Disk Imager from (http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/). After writing Kali Linux ISO file onto the usb with the Win32 Disk Imager, I tried to boot it up on my Windows 8.1 laptop (Dell Inspiron 15, 3000 series, 64 bit machine). However, my computer did not recognize my bootable usb and did not provide an usb boot option in the BIOS. Can anyone please suggest a solution to my problem?

Did you disable Secure boot / UEFI?

First, you need to disable "Secure boot" like g0tmi1k said.

This could not be enough to make it work. I suggest you to have a look at Fix for Live USB boot in EFI mode (64 bits)

I disabled the secure boot as suggested by g0tmi1k and tried the usb boot. This time, the BIOS did provide a usb boot option. After i selected the usb boot option the screen went black and a prompt appeared

    boot:

First I entered RETURN after boot: but it generated an error message: "Could not find Kernel image"
then I entered the name of the executable after boot: setup but it returned the same error message.

Can anyone please suggest what I am doing wrong? What should be entered after boot:?

By the way, I used Universal Usb Installer to write Kali Linux on my usb drive. I downloaded universal usb installer from (http://www.pendrivelinux.com/univers...easy-as-1-2-3/)
