    Advice on where to start?

    Hi,

Well I'm completely new both to penetration testing and linux in general and learning what I can from resources I can find on the internet. I'm running Kali Linux within a virtual box on MacOSX. I have it correctly installed and updated and am learning commands in the command line. Beyond the extreme basics I know nothing. I was just wondering what resources people recommend for someone just starting out? Will I be able to do all the testing I need to without being physically wired in to my own router? Everything on my network is connected wirelessly. Anyway just looking for the best place to start delving in. I tend to learn best with video tutorials rather than documentation but I can't really find anything that doesn't go well over my head and is too advanced. A nudge in the right direction would be amazing.

    Hi!

If you already have linux skills, is a nice idea to take a look in offsec trainings.

Hi! I would suggest getting cozy with Linux: UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook

    And also: overthewire.org

These are two good points to get started. You can also learn to use the tools provided in Kali (take note of the top 10).
