    Kali Linux and Partitions

    Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way to shrink the partition on Kali Linux. When I was installing Kali Linux it was meant to be a dual boot with Windows 10. I accidentally installed Kali Linux over Windows, and I am now trying to see if there is a way to partition the hard drive so that I may install Windows back on the computer. I'm hoping that someone can help me. For some reason the main partition has a key logo on it and won't let me do anything. Before someone tells me to use google, I have. And unless the issue is Kali Linux isn't working or using Windows to partition the hard drive there is nothing that will help me.

    Thanks in advanced.

If you're seeing a key icon, I'll take a guess that you have gparted open.

You can't modify it cause its mounted.

Boot from a Kali Live USB, open gparted and then right click to unmount those drives.

Your can now resize the partitions.
    chown -R us ./base

Ok great thank you. It was like pulling teeth to try to get an answer for a way to do things in Kali on google. When it came to partitions it was always doing it in Windows. Thank you again for helping me with this.
