I downloaded and went to install the updated version on my PC (native Kali) upon the completion, and after installing the boot loaded on the drive I needed, I get grub rescue prompt, and my machine no longer boots into kali.
any thoughts? it's stating: error: attempt to read or write outside of the disk 'hd0' entering rescue mode

I get the same with the downloaded image or the one I built last week, same error. I have wiped the disk. This was done with the text installer.
