How to add custom program shortcut on Desktop or Sidebar In 2.0's new gnome env?

In kali 1.1, it's very easy to add custom program shortcut to desktop or sidebar.
How to do that in 2.0?
Some programs no show in menu after install, such as gwenview (KDE pic viewer).

    Same problem.
Alt+ R.click or Alt + Win + R.click on panel does not work.
To make customization for the application menu have to look in /usr/share/applications folder ... is there easier way???

Hey, guys, let us know how to add some to the top panel or side dock.
    Hope you not to busy.
    Thanks in advance.

I also have this problem... Has this been resolved? Is there a work around? Is it just us?
