Hi all is possible to set on kali 2.0 style of kali 1.1.0a ?
Yes. Let me look thru my command history. I had to do this for my poor netbook
Yes! almost all.
Have you installed the vmware tools?
And there is a lite version with xfce instead of gnome. That should make one **** of a difference..
So sorry it took this long to respond. Family issues cropped up.
Anyway, here is what you wanna enter in your terminal:
# apt-get update && apt-get install gnome-flashback -y
# dbus-launch gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.session session-name 'gnome-flashback'
Then run the following to be certain that it worked:
# gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.session session-name
It should spit out:
'gnome-flashback'
Then reboot and log in. If it says "OOPS! Something went wrong!" click log-out then after entering your username, click the gear icon next to the login button. Select gnome-flashback and see if that works.
Once again, sorry for the late response.
Hello rootjb0 and Whoa, I can hardly wait to try your solution! THANK YOU!
and to xzenor... I also installed Kali Lite, and it runs FAST. (It just wasn't as robust as I'd like.)
so let me get this straight. Post #6 is to make KL2 have the user interface of KL1 ?

Gosh, I tried gnome-flashback and it didn't make 2.0 look anything like 1.1.0. The best I could do was +Taskbar,
search for this thread: "Kali 2 + GNOME 3.10 = Customizations, Solutions & Tweaks".
Here's the link to that page, but my copy/paste might be messed up because I'm using a webproxy... anyhow, link:
