    Change symbolic link colors

Can someone assist me with changing symbolic link colors? Currently, I have a backup script which will back things up to my /mnt/hgfs directory; however, this becomes a tedious task when needing to revert to a snapshot and restore things from that directory.

The issue I have with using symbolic links is that the directory colors from symbolic links are pretty ugly. But, if I change this ugly bright green background color from within terminal, this also affects a variety of other things (for example, python scripts when viewing them in VIM). Therefore, I am trying to figure out how to specifically change symbolic link directory colors without affecting anything else.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Refactor the script to change colors at the start, and to reset them as the script exits.
