Veracrypt gui won't run

Well , i tried installing veracrypt , after trying out my new Kali 2 ....i installed the cl version but was too boring so i went off to the gui version ,it appeared in the app menu and everything but when i click on it , it refuses to run , so i'm only stuck with CL version , the same thing happened with Truecrypt , but i thought that truecrypt didn't run due to any new security precaution withing KAli against the dead true crypt , but when this happened with vercrypt also , i though something was wrong , since i didn't find this issue mentioned anywhere else

SOLVED: had to install it manually , unpacked the package to tmp , then copied and pasted the individual files to their places, the gui worked fine then
