Hello, I'm using Kali Linux 3.7-trunk-686-pae on an Asus eee 1005HA.
Here is what i did yesterday from first boot until the reboot that afterward i couldn't see the taskbars and menu:
Yesterday i started updating and upgrading my box using these commands :
apt-get update
apt-get update-distro
apt-get upgrade
after that i installed Telegram from https://desktop.telegram.org/
then i updated Aircrack via apt-get, everything was fine, i was testing WPS with reaver and pixie for 4 hours. (no problem)
then i connected my Alfa card and tried to raise the TX power but i was failing so i rebooted the box and from that moment I cant see any bars in top or in bottom of my desktop.
Icons' shape changed, even their color, and i cant access terminal, only file manager is available.
i login as root and my LVM is encrypted if it helps.
and when it asks for my credentials i have 3 options : GNOME - GNOME Classic - System Default . i tried all 3, result was just the same.
spend couple of hours searching the web, came across 2 topics in Kali forums and read both, not helpful:
https://forums.kali.org/showthread.p...nu-Disappeared!

Thanks for you time reading this.
