    Video chip not supported

I've got an 8 year old Dell Vostro 1500 laptop I've been running Kali on for a couple years. Tried to upgrade to Kali 2.0, got the message my video hardware is no longer supported. Sure enough, I can boot to command line, but the GUI won't start.

Is there anything I can do besides going back to Kali 1.0?
