    Driver issues installing on a HP Steam Notebook

    I have this model; http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/...563443/drivers The issue i am having is, There is no working drivers for the broadcom chipset and the mousepad seems to not work... If anyone can help, i am just sitting here trying to figure it out while listening to some Tom Petty.

    Check if your laptop is listed on the Linux HCL:
    https://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/

    If its too new then you will have to wait until a kernel module is wrote. In the meantime,
    insert a USB stick and run

    lspci -v > hardware.txt

    This redirects the output of lspci to hardware.txt, copy hardware.txt to your USB stick
    and then open in windows (or whatever device you use online) and paste its contents.
