That screen that you have to swipe up, I cant tell you how annoying that is, Its bad enough to make me want drop this **** thing.

I agree its a pain - however it comes in-built & by default with the latest GNOME login screen.
For the record its called "Screen Shield" and it acts as a lock screen.
You do not need to swipe, can just press ESC (escape): https://forums.kali.org/showthread.p...ll=1#post49481
