Edimax AC1200 (EW07822UAC) does not show up on ifconfig

    Hey guys,

so I've been struggling with this for the last couple of days and do not know what to do.

I've tried other Linux images, somewhat successful but I really want my USB device to work on Kali Linux 2.0

    Things I have done.

    1)Updated sources.list
    2)Installed headers
3)Successfully 'Make' and 'Make Install' on this driver - https://github.com/csssuf/rtl8812au

but still get "The connection for the USB device 'Edimax 802.11n NIC' was unsuccessful. Driver error"

The device does show on lsusb but not ifconfig.

I am running Kali Linux 2.0 installed on VMware Workstation 12 Player.

Let me know if you need anything.

    Hope someone can help.

Well, as I often say, will your wireless card work on a non-VM install? I've often had trouble getting wireless to work inside a VM, so I usually avoid it. Anything weird in dmesg?
