Resolution Aspect Problem

I cannot change the resolution aspect from 4:3 to 16:9.I'm using a 1080p Philips 244EL2SB/27 monitor and I'm currently using the Live version of Kali Linux.Is that the issue,if not what is the issue and how to fix it?

Cant you change into any other resolution or just into the 1920x1080?
Also: Did you try it through GUI or command line?
This would be the command for:

xrandr -s 1920x1080
