safe to upgrade to kernel 4.3 with kali 2.0?

    hello there!

my laptop, the lenovo yoga 700-14isk needs a newer kernel for the wireless to work...

is it safe to upgrade the kernel to newer versions?

and the best way to do this?

    Thanks!

I definitely would NOT upgrade the kernel, as you will likely cause more problems.

To get wireless going, I'd recommend getting one of the compatible wireless cards. A little investment now will save you a lot of time & headaches.

Nodding my head to grid's post and saying it again "DO NOT UPDATE KERNEL" do this

    https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/_me...25.17.12.0.tgz

Download that and then extract it to wherever, then change the files:

    iwlwifi-7265D-13.ucode to iwlwifi-3165-9.ucode
    iwlwifi-7265-13.ucode to iwlwifi-3165-13.ucode

The move those two renamed files to /lib/firmware

You should be good to go. I only did a quick look at your box specs and I saw it had an IntelĀ® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165
Does it?? Hope it does because I know it worked on mine.

    Cheers 8^)
