    airodump-ng error

    i have a usb adapter and i connected it to my vm kail, it worked perfectly, but after i set it monitor mode and enter in "airodump-ng wlan0" it gives me an error saying :ioctl(SIOCGIFINDEX) failed: No such device.

    I have the same problem. Now, here's the thing, I think I got to the next step. Your using an adapter right? Try replacing mon0 with phy0. You'll get a similar error, but you'll come closer I think like so:





    I have more screen shots but I hope something like this helped. Actually, I then tried phy2 because that's what showed up.

    Use iwconfig to check your interfaces.
    Use man for info on tools you're trying to use.
    Code:
    man iwconfig
    Read everything.
    :ioctl(SIOCGIFINDEX) failed: No such device.
    Try everything before looking for help.... It'll turn out to be better...

    no such device means that you've been typing wrong interface name.... since it's changed somehow now with kali2 you should try:

    airodump-ng wlan0mon
