Kali Linux 2.0 crashes to grey screen saying system cant recover after login
Hi i have just installed kali 2.0 on my laptop
and now when i go to log in it comes up with grey screen with sad computer face
saying system cant recover and all extensions have been disabled and to log in and try again.
i have tried also clicking the little cog to use gnome but that just goes black then back to log in screen.
I am rather new to linux systems and have read about this command and edit
# vi /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf (use sudo for non root user )
And change it
AutomaticLoginEnable=false
AutomaticLogin=root or user1 (if u create a new user and want to login from it)
To
AutomaticLoginEnable=true
AutomaticLogin=root or user1
but after i put vi /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf in i come to screen which i dont know how to edit
could someone please help me with this and tell me how to edit it so can try and see if this solves/fixes my problem
