    Installing Kali 2.0 onto HP Chromebook 11

    Hi

    I keep getting "The device you inserted does not contain Chrome OS"

    the device is HP Chromebook 11 G2

    Samsung Exynos 5250 Dual (1.7 GHz, 1MB L2 cache, 2cores)

    I have tried 3 usb stick's (1x 8gb -lexar and 2 x 16gb Sandisk)

    Same results

    I downloaded the kali image as per the http://docs.kali.org/kali-on-arm/ins...arm-chromebook

    I set the mode to developer

    I successfully ran the dd command and that seemed to work for both usb sticks that I tried.
    sudo dd if=kali-2.0-exynos.img.xz of=/dev/sda

    8gb = /dev/sda
    16gb = /dev/sda1 (tried this when it didn't work)

    I then exit the terminal, shutdown, reboot, and press Ctrl + U, which then states the below

    "The device you inserted does not contain Chrome OS"

    I have tried this a good few times, same result.

    Does anyone have any thoughts or know how on how I can get Kali onto the usb for this HP device

    after some digging about, I've found my HP platform is "skate" and not like the image which is based on "spring", which may be the cause :-(

    After doing brain somersualts!!!, I used the crouton process via the github, and this method works, need to install the tools. (Was about chuck the Chromebook out, and the mouse on these devices are ****, will stick to the regular laptop's next time).

    Anyway I feel strange as I seemed to have had question and answer session to myself on here....:-)
