Hi everyone!
I'm trying to dual boot my Late 2011 Macbook Pro 13 Inch with Kali Linux 2.0 and OS X 10.11.1. I already tried a lot of tutorials I've found while browsing the world wide web but nothing didn't really work out for me. My biggest problem actually is that I can't boot Kali Linux from a Live USB or a live CD.
My approach is the following:
1. I download Kali Linux from the official Kali Website.
2. I write the ISO file to my USB Stick via sudo dd if=kali-linux-2.0-amd64.iso of=/dev/disk2 bs=1m.
3. I restart my Mac holding the alt key while booting with my USB Stick plugged in.
4. Next my rEFInd Manager opens and shows the Kali USB Stick but everytime I select to boot from it my system freezes and I can't do anything until I hard shutdown my Mac.
5. I also tried burning the Kali IMG to a DVD and use that to boot from, but my rEFInd Manager won't even show the DVD.
I experienced rEFInd won't work properly with OS X El Capitan - so I did some research and found a way how to fix it.
Can somebody please help me how to boot Kali Live USB on my Macbook Pro 13 Inch late 11? I guess the rest of the installation shouldn't be a problem.
